Daredevil Back in Black Vol 6 Mayor Fisk Charles Soule Stefano Landini Books Reviews
- Like with X-Men Blue, I took an unintended break from this title but I'm back now for a story that is a culmination of everything Charles Soule has been doing with Daredevil for the past few years. I've always heard how great the runs by Brian Michael Bendis and Ed Brubaker are, and that's probably true but I've never gotten around to reading them. They don't make this series any less fantastic, though. Wilson Fisk has taken control of New York and outsmarted Daredevil at every turn. What can Matt hope to do against his longtime adversary? Brace yourself, as this story takes a number of twists and turns as it heads towards the milestone 600th issue. Almost every major character from Soule's run plays a role. The payoff from last volumes cliffhanger is perfect. The art is all pretty good. Stefano Landini does a fine job, but I was most excited for Ron Garney's return to the book. He's been part of the series since its beginning and his dark, gritty style fits perfectly. There's also a nice additional story by Christos Gage. It gives a spotlight to Matt's best friend Foggy. This story was everything I hoped it would be for such an excellent series. I can't wait to see where it goes next.
5/5 - it is a good story with good art if you liked the run you will enjoy this volume nothin spacial
- This was a gift and the recipient really liked this comic book.
- Great story! I can’t wait to catch the next one
- This storyline is simply epic. The way Fisk plays with Mark reminds us of why he is the Kingpin. I hope one day they adapt this to tv.
- Superb story
- Entertaining, but not earth-shattering.
- Amazing set up for what's to come
