- I have been following Original Strength and Tim Anderson’s work on youtube for about 4 and a half years now. I have studied exercise since I was in high school including the work of Charles Poliquin, Gary Grey, Pete Ecosgue, Paul Chek, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Brett Contreras, Ian King, etc. I have also experimented with different types of Yoga, Qigong and various specific sports training including swimming and had countless chiropractic visits. What has stuck with me the most, and given me the most benefit by far, is Tim Anderson’s work. It’s what I have returned to again and again and again without even thinking about it. My body chose his work, not my intellect. Doing his reset movements have put me the most in touch with my body, prevented injury and made my body feel the best out of anything I have ever done. Original Strength movements have also helped my posture the most. It is almost absurd how much I have gotten out of the movements for so little time that I put into them compared to other exercises and programs I’ve done in the past. Often for me the movements only add up to about five minutes a day but I do them throughout the day and they are enjoyable to do. I just can’t say enough good things about Original Strength especially if you want to age well.
This book provides a good template for movement routines along with pictures and instructions. The book is easy to read and Tim’s positive and helpful attitude is as present in the book as it is in his videos. I related to his story of over-training and letting exercise dominate his life at one point. Tim includes a lot of wisdom in this book about movement, nutrition and life. Worth checking out if you are looking for a helpful perspective on the body. - This book covers it how to get functionally strong and fit, and in a way that’s intuitive, instinctive, and fun. I’ve been a fan of Tim’s work for years and how well his idea of resets integrates with other styles is training. This book takes it to another level, offering real performance boosts focused on everyday, basic movements. A must read.
- If you are a student of strength or simply want to learn how to get really strong to handle the things life throws at you this is the book for you. This is not traditional strength training but it may surprise you. This book builds upon the concepts from ‘PRESSING RESET Original Strength Reloaded’ and shows you the path to being ‘Bulletproof’ . What you can handle in your mind and body will transform you! Tim lays out the SIMPLE (not EASY) programs in here that can take you from zero to HERO in no time. Minimal equipment is needed and in some cases none at all. Empty your cup and prepare to put in the work and you will surprise yourself at how STRONG and Resilient you can become in no time at all!! I know I am going to be diving into this program right now!
- I discovered Tim Anderson six years ago when my kettlebell instructor brought Tim and his Original Strength workshop to Nashville. At the time, I was a active, strong woman in my 50’s, but I had chronic neck, shoulder, and hip pain from sitting behind a computer at work all day and I kept getting injuries from working out. That workshop changed my life! Tim provided us with simple ‘resets’ that we could incorporate into our day to restore mobility and strength, and once I began doing these regularly and consistently, my aches and pains all but went away! I started reading his books, blog posts, watching his videos…absorbing anything I could get my hands on in order to learn more from this guy! My “workouts†soon became very similar to what Tim shares in this latest book and now, at 60, I am the strongest (as well as injury-free) version of myself I’ve ever been! Whether in person or in his writing, Tim shares his vast knowledge of how our bodies are designed to move in a way that anyone can understand. The weekly training program examples he provides and how to approach them are simple in nature…but not easy! You will feel like you worked out, but not like you were worked over! Best of all, he presents the material in such a positive, encouraging way that even someone just starting on their fitness path can find hope that they too can become ‘bulletproof’! This is a keeper!
